Volleyball game

Tuesday meant another volleyball game for Maya. This week unfortunately they lost their game 1-2.

Tuesday bike ride

Nice Sunny day in the 70's!!!!! We of course had to set out for a little bike ride to enjoy this fine weather. We did about five miles riding over to and around Minnehaha. Although the weather was nice and hot that southern wind is still a bit of a bother. It was blowing so hard today I thought the Mississippi was going to start flowing in the other direction.

Monday bike ride

This afternoon the girls and I battled a strong and unceasing southern wind to go on another bike ride. This time we racked up 15 miles on a trip over to Minneapolis, then back to the west side of the river to Mendota Heights, only to return to Minneapolis, and finally back to Saint Paul. Here the girls are at one of our rest stops, a scenic overlook across the marsh from the airport. The temps are getting warmer and it has been nice to get out for some fresh air.

Timberwolves vs. Suns

Tonight we went to see our very own semi-professional basketball team, The Minnesota Timberwolves take on the Phoenix Suns at Target Center. Suns won 111 to 105.

Wednesday night bike ride

Rode 9.8 miles with Maya tonight. Annah was right there too in the pull along bike, but she slept most of the way.

News Story: India is deploying an anti-terrorism weapon made from the world's hottest chilli. I bet this weapon wouldn't work on Zaheeda - she would probably add it to her curry.

Bike ride

Here's Maya at Minnehaha Falls as we were out for our first bike ride of the year. It was little chilly but we bundled up and enjoyed the fresh air.

Saint Patrick's Day continued...

We went to meet Maya as she got off the bus this afternoon and she was still on her Saint Patrick's Day high.

Saint Patrick's Day

It's Saint Patrick's Day and there is none more excited than Maya. For some reason Maya loves this holiday and seems to relish the fact that she is 1/16th Irish - even though most everyone who discovers this says, "really... You don't look Irish."

Volleyball Game

Maya had her first volleyball game tonight it was an all Hillcrest competition - that is Hillcrest vs Hillcrest and then another game of Hillcrest vs. yet another Hillcrest team. Maya's Hillcrest team won one of her two games. Though a little nervous at first, she managed to shake off the butterflies and did just fine. Her serves got over the net and she even got a few kill shots.

Ahhh Spring!!!!

First nice day of the year

Had a beautiful Spring day today so we headed out for a little walk.

Master Sushi Chef

Tonight for our anniversary Maya made us sushi. I was very delicious.

Getting Zaheeda out of the house

We've been trying to ween Zaheeda off her nightly routine of watching Entertainment Tonight by taking her out for a walk. Maya stays home with Annah while I walk with Zaheeda around the neighborhood and try to get her mind off of the latest Angelina Jolie controversy.
