Maya's leash has been drastically shortened due to what some (her parents) deem as less than stellar performance in the areas of school, behavior and violin. Instead of a carefree three months of fun and sun this summer Maya has a daily list of tasks she needs to complete before she even begins to think about doing anything else - bedtimes are being enforced, practices are being monitored, t.v. has been curtailed. This is not to say she isn't allowed to do anything fun - after all we believe in rehabilitation not just punishment - it's just that life has become severely restricted.
Also, part of her daily routine is a writing assignment, so she's been writing letters to people. Don't be surprised if you receive a letter from her letting you know what's been going on in her life - which has not been much.
