Brent Wood-Taylor's Santa's Shiai - Fond du Lac, WI

Maya won four of her six matches on Saturday earning her second place at the Brent Wood-Taylor's Santa Shiai Tournament.  She did an outstanding job and is getting better and better with each tournament.  (video soon to come)

Badger Open Judo Tournament

We were at the Badger Open Judo Tournament this weekend in Fond du Lac and Maya won two of her three matches giving her 2nd place in her division.  Here she is with Logan, a fellow Midway Judo friend who made the trip and got 2nd as well.

Judo Tournament

Maya had her first Judo tournament this weekend, The 2012 Land of Lakes Open.  Even though she lost both matches she fought good fights.  Since there was only one girl in her division the fact that she lost still meant she got second place and a medal -  Hey it's like Woody Allen said, sometimes 80 percent of success is just showing up.

Yesterday during our walk we stopped at the nature center for a break.  Here Maya is with a beaver (Maya is the one on the left).

Went for another walk this afternoon but Maya refused to go as far as last time so we trimmed of half our loop around Pike Island and made it a 4.5 mile walk instead.  It was much nicer today since it was about 10 degrees cooler.

Today at Jujitsu Maya was working on the armbar...  She loves the armbar.

Today Maya came with me for a 6 mile walk in 100 degree heat.  It was a little embarrassing because she had a hard time keeping up with me even though I'm middle age and out of shape.  

Here is a fawn that jumped up next to us and made us both scream.  After everything settled down we looked at him and he looked at us and we all felt a little foolish for being startled.

Track Meet at Como

Today I had a track meet at Como. We won (of course) and we are undefeated. Since today was about 90 degrees it was very hot and we had to wait an 1 1/2 hours until our bus got here but we had fun.

when we finally got there I found out that I was doing the 400 meter run and i got 1st place and the best score of all the 400 runs (1 min 17 seconds) before this the guys ran there 4 x 1 and won.

Because it was 90 degrees we had to take a water break.
