For Christmas all Maya wanted was clothes...  and clothes is what she got.

Hola! This is Maya I had posted the blog earlier about my friend Noah going to Florida so my dad said I should start updating the blog more. So in some of the posts if I'm talking, it will be in the 1st person. Today my basketball team lost to Ramsey by one point, a girl on my team fouled and so Ramsey got two free trows. We are now 5-2 and 3rd place in the ranking.

Adrian Belew

Last night Maya and I went to see Adrian Belew at the Ceder Cultural Center in Minneapolis.  It was a perfect opportunity for Maya to be steeped in 70's progressive rock music; i.e., songs in 7/4 time that last about nine minutes.  It was a good show and Maya was happy that Adrian Belew played The Dinosaur song, one of her personal favorites.

After a long day of school, volleyball, and misc. home responsibilities there is nothing Maya likes better than capping the day off with some nice homework.

Highland Park Middle School had a volleyball game against Murray Middle School this afternoon but unfortunately lost.  Both teams played really well though, it was pretty impressive.

Maya was so excited about the first day of school that she went to bed at 8PM...  And she never goes to bed at 8PM.

Back to School

Summer is over and Maya is back to work. She was up at 6AM this morning and off to the bus at 6:50. Being that this year is a new school she's awfully excited for the new school year. We're awfully excited about the arrival of the new school year too, but for different reasons.

Violin Recital

Maya had a violin recital this afternoon marking the end of summer lessons. It was kind of weird to see Maya up there at a recital as one of the "big kids" instead of one of the little ones sawing away at the Twinkles. She did a great job and sounded great with Weine accompanying her on piano.

Target shooting

This weekend we were at Maya's Grandparent's house and Maya spent the afternoon doing a little target shooting. Turns out she's quite the dead eye.

Yesterday Maya and her Grandparents went to see the King Tut exhibit at the Science Museum. It was interesting and they had a good time.
