Why No Internet?

The guy from Comcast figured out what caused our loss of internet connection, it turns out I accidentally plugged the router adapter into the modem jack and the modem adapter into the router jack and apparently this is what electricians and communication experts refer to as a bad idea. The modem fried - fortunately it was rental. Now we are renting a brand new one.
